About MTHR:

I don't know who needs to hear this, but a shower isn't self-care.

After a traumatic birth experience with my first child in 2017, it took what felt like a decade to come up for air, emotionally heal from my experience, and then learn how to carve enough space to consider my own needs and wellness within the realm of motherhood. I felt largely under-resourced and completely overwhelmed in those early days (just kidding, still do!), but what felt especially daunting was the overall awareness that self-care was not encouraged for us mothers. I wanted to do something about the false expectation that my own passions and creative intentions were expected to be put on hold because of this new mom-identity, and to change the narrative that we must pave one “career versus mom” road for ourselves. I had dreamt of a starting a collective where wellness would be prioritized, and connection and rediscovery could follow. An online+offline space where mothers could feel heard, and know that they wouldn’t have to white knuckle their way through all the challenges of motherhood, alone. A hub for women to network and chat careers and share our dreams and aspirations in a judgement free atmosphere. In the Fall of 2018, the inception of MTHR Collective was born (no pun intended).

I have dreamt up, designed, and produced our retreats to inspire the every mom to pursue her creative passions, while empowering her to seek the necessary rest + self-care in order to be her best, most authentic self in the realm of motherhood. I hope by night one of our retreat, you see that our collective is made up of the most incredible, imperfect moms with no egos, and instead a group of likeminded women who all share a willingness to trust fall into the experience I have created for you.

I cannot wait to meet you, mama.

XO,

Danielle
